It is with great regret that OAV announces that Shelby Powers lost her battle with cancer yesterday. Shelby was a guiding light for Opticians in Virginia and a pioneer in the field of Contact Lenses. She blazed a trail in a profession that was largely made up of men, opening doors for women to enter into the profession. Shelby will be missed greatly. More details will follow.

The Contact Lens Rule ("the Rule") implements the requirements of the Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act ("the Act"), 15 U.S.C. 7601-7610.
