Department of Labor & Industry Make Changes To The Optician Apprenticeship Program
On Wednesday, April 17, 2019 the Department of Labor & Industry formally adopted the change switching the Optician apprenticeship from a three-year program to a two-year program.
The Department of Labor & Industry Apprenticeship Consultants are communicating the revised related technical instruction requirements to the apprentices and sponsors. The accepted related education course will be offered through Reynolds Community College and National Academy of Opticianry . Current enrolled apprentices will be converting to the new program of 2 years along with all newly enrolled apprentices.
